Privacy policy

Plain English. The short version is at the top.

Last updated 31 July 2026

The short version. Your home profile is yours. We do not sell your information to anybody, ever. A contractor cannot see your name, address, phone number or email unless you have specifically said yes to being connected with one. You can download everything we hold and you can delete it.

The one thing worth knowing: when you ask us to connect you with a contractor and you hire them, that contractor pays us. You never pay us anything. That is how this is free, and you should factor it in.

Who we are

BighoffHoldings LLC, Carpentersville, Illinois, operates the Home AI Profile. When this policy says "we" or "us," that is who it means.

Questions, or you want your data: scott@bighoffholdings.com.

What we collect

Things about your house

Things about you

This site does not run advertising trackers and does not set advertising cookies.

How the AI part works

When you upload a photo of a data plate or an inspection report, we send it to an AI service to read the model number, serial number and dates off it, so you do not have to type them in. The AI is used to read your document, nothing else.

Roughly one in six of these needs a human to check it, because scans are crooked and stickers are faded. When that happens, a person at BighoffHoldings looks at your document. We would rather tell you that than not.

Your documents are not used to train anybody's AI model.

What a contractor can see

Contractors who work with us get a list of jobs they have done. By default you appear on it as a number — "Customer #219" — with the equipment and the date it is due, and no name, no address, no phone number, no email.

That changes only when you have ticked the box that says we may connect you with a local pro, and only for that purpose. If you have not ticked it, we do not give a contractor your contact details — not on a call, not in a spreadsheet, not once.

Text messages

There are two separate permissions and you can take one without the other:

We cap ourselves at two messages in any 30 days, and no more than one contractor offer in any 60 days. Most people get 6 to 12 messages a year. We do not text before 8am or after 9pm your time.

Reply STOP to any message and they end. Reply HELP for help. Turning off texts does not affect your profile.

Who else touches your data

We use a small number of companies to run this. They process data for us and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes:

Data is stored in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

What we never do

Your controls

One exception to deletion. If you turned texts on, we keep the record of that permission — the wording, the date, and when you turned it off. We keep it because it is our proof that we were allowed to message you. It is kept on its own and is not used for anything else.

Children

This is a service for homeowners. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is a significant one — particularly anything about who can see your information — we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing this page.
